Based On the Medical Condition Known As Phantom Limbs
We all know from the movies about phantom limbs.
Alright, a gifted pianist is sent into war and loses his right arm. Happens a lot. There are even concertos for the left hand.
But once in awhile a pianist feels his right arm as if it were still intact and is actually able to play concertos for 2-hands, even though his right hand is only a phantom.
The fact that the army would send a gifted pianist into combat might seem lame brained, then you realize that Donald Trump would have no clue what we're talking about and at best he'd credit the piano with being gifted. Unless it was a Mexican piano.
I wish I'd get to the point.
Stations like KDX have phantom listeners. Ya, I realize what I say... KDX exists for me as its listener, and I'm no phantom, believe me.
But our AM and FM signals are on real air, and part of me thinks someone out there could happen upon a program on their radio and fall in love with what they hear. While they were out walking their dog we'd say hello and they'd recognize my voice and fall in love with me on the spot. I might mention that the person would be a woman.
That's romantic thinking and the feminists have a thousand ways of deflecting such feelings, but again today I forgot to turn on my streams.
All day the programming went out at 89.5 MHz and 1550 kHz, but nothing on the worldround internet. I had forgotten to turn it on.
Fully well aware that no one listens to my internet streams, I none the less feel as though I've failed my phantom listeners.
This is all about guilt before a jury of my phantoms.
