Picking Through the List
That was an informative several moments picking through the list of LPFMs close to home... several of which I had not previously known about.
For example, I had no clue there was an LPFM on one of my coveted channels... 106.9.... I guess because it is just far enough away that it does not reach our campus here at the Internet Building. It is KWEC licensed to West End Church of Christ in St. Charles, MO., over in the next county. Or, maybe it's not on, even though it's shown as currently licensed.
The St. Louis Majestic Basketball Club's KTGP at 99.5 MHz was on for its first few weeks of existence, strong signal from a high building, but first the audio shut off with a dead carrier for about a week, then the carrier went off and hasn't been heard from again. Word is they couldn't pay their transmitter rent. It's still listed as being currently licensed.
As some of these stations drop by the wayside is there a process for stepping in and assuming the license?
