Smarter Today Than Yesterday
The article on Circular Polarization posted by Mister Druid Hills Radio has given an understanding of circular polarization that we previously did not grasp.
Years ago I recall engineers saying that FM stations broadcasting with both horizontal and vertical polarization had "double the power" of stations broadcasting either one or the other, but that didn't make sense to me at the time. Thanks to Druid's link it finally makes sense.
Starting tomorrow morning at 10 AM CST KDX-FM will start broadcasting with circular polarization.
Tomorrow's plans to start circular polarization have been postponed because, come to think of it, we may not have a circularly polarized antenna in spare parts.
