Antenna DreamThis morning after linking to PhilB's "Ultimate Antenna" I took a morning nap and woke up with an idea for an indoor antenna. As a matter of fact I started a project thread several years back at Part15_us Indoor Antenna ProjectThe project was put into a holding pattern and needs to be re-started... the dream is the spark that will do the job! Part of my dream idea has to do with technology learned from PZM microphones, and this edition of This Week in Radio Tech brings a fantastic episode about microphones with sound expert and microphone maker Bob Heil who made the surprising statement that many of his microphone ideas came to him from antenna technology in his experience as an amateur radio operator! TWiRT Microphone EpisodeYou'll be the first to know.

I respect Phil's opinion on most things but I have to take issue in the case of the base loaded antenna. There is a reason that most mobile physically short vertical antennas are center loaded as opposed to base loading. Here is a link show such and antenna which by the way, is on my Ford F-150. www.geotool.com/F150A.jpg

Current Distribution is better with a center loaded antenna. Base loaded antennas are easier to make.
