KDX On the Front Porch
KDX is up river from New Orleans, where the Annual Jazz Festival began Week 2 of the National Simulcast from WWOZ a station entirely devoted to the heritage of great American music rooted in the legendary city.
Of course in the steamboat days the fabulous music born in the Big Easy found its way here to St. Louis giving us also something of a jazz history.
For the 7th year KDX is connected by stream... that's a poetic way of putting it given the river symbol... and our large poetry mixing board is combining the spirit of live music with our peaceful, gray, non-violent, steady rain that began early this morning, imposing something of a natural holiday.
Carl, which refers to me, your writer, is somewhat off-duty because the heavy-lifting is being done out of the WWOZ Hospitality Tent.
These are thoughts and feelings that came to me while standing on the elegant front porch of the Internet Building, a veritable airport of secretly nesting birds which took-off and landed in circular patterns surveilling my presence in their air space.
As the melodic flow passes through it scatters between rain drops putting lively music on 1550 AM, 89.5 FM, and Worldround on Webserver passing among populations fleeing persecution, drone targeted, bombed, starved and rounded up for real punishment, but no mind because the shelves are stocked at Save-So-Much for the lucky arrivals dodging gunfire in the parking lot.
The solution is bomb Iran, so insists Nyet Nyet in a statement earlier in the week.
Funny how many things pass through the head listening to fine music on a moody day.
