We plan to bring back out that Antenna Tuning Unit for the talking house/iam radio transmitter, yes. We plan to make it more efficient than its predecessor!

Oh my God if the predecessor used to get out of Mile imagine what this one will do. I'm curious to see how it works with the IAM transmitter.
Let us know the price and everything. When you think it will be out.

Not to cut it down, but after seeing documentation on it and what's inside, it's not a magic box, it's an ATU, or 'Antenna Tuning Unit', the same as hams have been using for years.
It's a method of adding an adjustable coil, 'inductance' in series with the antenna, to resonate it, and a meter to tune it for peak power output. The 'Magic' in this case is,
1: It's remote, separate from the transmitter and can be mounted outdoors in the clear for more effective transmission.
2: Thanks to a high-low band switch, it can cover the whole broadcast band.
I contacted a Part-15 associate who has one of the old ones, and some of this info is from him. He made his more efficient by replacing all of the ground wiring inside of the box with thick wire.
Perhaps ISS will do this? He also thinks the wire that the inductors are wound with could be made thicker, since it's the same thickness as typical receiver loopstick antenna wire.
Personally I think it's great that ISS is continuing the remote tuner line! When you think about it, the Talking House and I-AM transmitter line is one of the most popular Part-15 transmitters in use, if not the most used. The ATU also gets regular mention on radio sites, and it became the stuff of legend.
