Mystery of the Year
Curiosity about the "secret sauce" antenna being developed by Jeff Station8 is certainly the mystery of the year.
We all want and need an AM antenna that is smaller but more effective, and as I understand it that's where Jeff is going.
That machining problem is no surprise... most metal shops probably need large orders to make all the tooling and special engineering worth their while. Of coarse Jeff only needs one prototype of his experimental model, and probably the tool companies don't think it's a profit-making project for themselves.
I was lucky once when I needed professionally engineered parts to modify the tape-head mounts of several cassette duplicating decks because I knew an engineer located in an adjoining module of my building and he did it as a favor since I provided security for his office.
Lucky for us Jeff will find a way to do this.

Howdy you all: I have found one company that is giving me a good result in getting materials for my antenna.February 24, 2016
I still have to get more information,But it's very promising in the way it looks at this point in time for cost and materials.
Keep in mind it either will work or not in getting materials do to things can change but for now it promising.
Just want to let you know.

Jeff I really wish all your experimenting was being saved on video so we can someday enjoy watching the whole process of inventing a new AM antenna.
4-miles is historic!
See you at the Big Meeting!

Hi Carl & All: Here is your answer to your question Carl I hope this helps.
1) For me to doing recording it would be hard to do i'm by myself and need extra hands for recording a video.
2) 99% of my idea come to me when I'm sleeping,So I wake up fast and put idea down on paper so i don't loose idea then i go back to sleep. That would be hard to record without some hanging over you all the time, I won't mind a nice pretty lady.
3) I also get ideas from ham operators that make there own antenna designs.
4) I also incorporated other antenna design from other sources.
5) I look at various wave length antenna.
6) I also look outside of the box when coming up with ideas.
Then I scramble in my head and come up with my own idea and do a drawing of the antenna on paper then I do figures for length width thickness and materials i will need then i look for supplyers then I produce a protype and off I go then the testing.
I hope this helps out in someway in what I do and hope I didn't overload you.

Understand What You Are Saying
Jeff, when I said it would be lucky for us to see video of your process I also knew that you could not do the video yourself without getting very distracted from the main job of invention.
If I could send you a pretty lady with a video camera she would already be there, but I would worry that she might distract you.
Getting ideas in sleep is a very fascinating process... I have read in books that other inventors have also had brilliant solutions come into their dreams so they could wake up and know what to do next.
Thank you for posting these updates and we will have our meeting at TeamSpeak.

Howdy you all: Sorry I did not get with you sooner my elbow was inflamed so its hard to do typing.
Just so you know at last meeting I talked about 2 more design of my original antenna.
One is a wire version of the antenna.
The second version is a design of original, But it will allow you to have a ground attached without breaking the part 15.219 section b length.
Just think if you join the ALPB you could keep up what going on with new inventions and projects like my antenna for one.
Also look at joining the new radio revolution former the initiative to make improvements on the fcc laws for part 15 hobby broadcaster.
Thank you

I'd experiment myself, but serious health issues prevent it. Can't wait to see your finished product!

Just a thought and sort of a solution to what Carl suggested with the videos, why not just set up a webcam while you're working on the antenna? Or perhaps a used smartphone with a camera just kind of propped up in your work area? You'd be surprised how many webcams are out there that just record what people do on a daily basis, some don't even know their online in living color.
