it is designed specifically for AM with a 10 or 5 kHz NRSC, it's mono and has asymmetrical limiting none of which lends itself well to FM.

Schlockwood
That's the Schlockwood LPAM processor made by Jim Wood, a founder of Inovonics, a supplier of audio equipment for broadcast stations for decades. This is a side project for Jim for the low power broadcasting market.
I would have liked that for practical reasons when I had an active analog studio and was so big into having my own full radio station at home. I just had the simplest automatic gain control and limiter. Even so I didn't feel bad about it, it was the most fun ever on that station!
