As some may remember, The ALPB (Association of Low Power Broadcasters) based its activities around TeamSpeak meetings.
TeamSpeak is a real-time audio app which allows multiple participants to speak with each other in a round-table fashion. In addition I and others have used it for live Studio-Transmitter-Link for live remotes. Just last night I put our high school football game on our LPFM using TeamSpeak.
Late notice, but an impromptu meeting has been suggested for this evening, November 1st, 2019 at 7:00 pm EDT. Myself and Johny C. of Rag-FM New Zealand plan to meet.
Meetings were regularly scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month when the group was actively involved.
If anyone else is interested, please feel free to join in.
TeamSpeak is a free app. you can download. You'll need the server address to access my TeamSpeak server. Interested? Message me through this forum and I'll send you the address.

Actually, the Saturday meeting was on November 2nd, my goof.
Thanks to Johny C., Jeff-Station 8 and DJ Troy for joining in.
The casual meet lasted for about a couple hours. It was good to hear voices again.
Meetings are typically the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at 7:00 PM Eastern local time which is now back to Standard Time.
Occasionally someone would organize a "Talk Show", recording the meeting, for use on their station. A great application for TeamSpeak.
That being said, one topic discussed was an idea that came up at a meeting long ago. WBCQ, a shortwave station in Maine, was offering a bargain basement rate for air time and we were going to do a live show on WBCQ using TeamSpeak to allow all to participate. It was never pulled together but still sounds like fun. There was some interest of looking into that idea again. If anyone else is interested let me know.

Another nice chat on Saturday, November 16th.
Johny "Rag-FM" Cole, Jeff "Station 8", Troy "The Legacy" and myself talked for a couple hours. Nothing serious, just casual conversation.
Join us for the next meeting, 1st and 3rd Saturdays at 7 pm EST.

If all goes as planned the next TeamSpeak meeting will be Saturday December 7th, 2019.
No agenda, just friends chatting about what's going on in the world of radio.
Meeting time is 7pm EST, casual dress.

Another enjoyable TeamSpeak meeting.
We had Johny C., Station 8, The Legacy, Part15 Engineer and myself in attendance.
The meeting went on for over 2 hours and we talked about many topics.
This is how The ALPB started out. People talking to people. I always figured we are broadcasters, we should be able to talk!
The next meeting will be the 3rd Saturday of this month, 7 pm EST.
Join in. All you need is to download/install the FREE TeamSpeak Client app. Contact me for the server address/password and answers to questions you may have regarding its use.

Well, given the busy nature of this time of year, I totally forgot the TeamSpeak meeting of December 21st, 2019.
Anyone who did tune in, I hope it went well.
The next ALPB TeamSpeak meeting will be January 4th, 2020. The start of a new decade!
I will definitely make an attempt to be there.
By the way, I did check on the rates for air time on an international short wave station. $35/hour.
Sounds doable so the idea of producing a program to air on short wave is viable...

It was great to reconnect with friends on the TeamSpeak server tonight. I bailed out early but was there to enjoy discussions about Part 15 AM, super 'hot' radios, a volcano in New Zealand and weather talk, a rather long discussion about steam locomotives. Who would have guessed the expertise and knowledge of the folks on this site which go far beyond radio.
Hope to hear you all in two weeks.

Steam locomotives? Now that's an off the beaten path subject to come up.

Yup, we are united in our interest regarding Part15 radio yet we come from diverse backgrounds and experience. Next TeamSpeak meeting, ask me about when I stuck needles in a white tiger.

The next TeamSpeak meeting is Jan 18th, 2020 at 7:00 pm EST. Although I was a bit late, I did make the last meeting and unfortunately I missed Neil. He is one of the Charter ALPB members that helped in the beginning stages of the group. I do thank everyone that was present and it's nice to see the group coming together again for some radio talk among other interesting topics. Anyone that needs info on what you need to become part of the meeting, just send a request either by messaging from the forum or use the "Contact" button at The ALPB website.

Arrrgggg, I missed the February 1st meeting. Snuck up on me and as usual we were busied out for the day.
Not to worry, these are informal gatherings of friends simply to chat about what's happening in the world of radio.
The TeamSpeak service is usually always up and available (except when Windows does an unannounced update and reboots the server.)
The January 18th meeting was enjoyable with DJ Troy, Station 8, Johny C. and myself in attendance.
Let's see if I can clear my calendar for the next meeting on February 15th, 2020 at 7:00 pm EST.
Update: Since Microsoft dropped support of Windows 7, the TeamSpeak server will not run. I am looking into the problem and hope to have it resolved soon.

You might consider, if it is viable, the possibility of upgrading the system to Win10 still. My understanding is that one is still able to do so without cost, provided that their Win7 key is valid.

Unfortunately that is not the case. I checked into that today and apparently when they dropped support the upgrade link no longer works.
I have installed the TeamSpeak server on one of my Win 10 machines and I'm testing it now. While streaming an audio feed it shutdown so I need to see why.
Updates later...
