Taboo Program MaterialThis is a tough call. Some stations will want to air Robert de Niro's "President Speech", but other stations will complain to ALPB moderators. Robert de Niro Speaking to a Capacity Tony Award AudienceMaybe I'm saved by the fact that the link seems not to work. But I'll look elsewhere and may be back. Let's try this Robert de Niro Youtube Tony Award SpeechNOTICE! The Youtube link starts in the middle of the video, to see it from the start click it back to the beginning.

Agreed. He accomplishes nothing positive with these rants. Taboo Program MaterialThis is a tough call. de Niro's One-Word Rant
Admin adds: "He accomplishes nothing positive with these rants."
Calling one word a "rant" may be more flattery than intended.
I would say that one thing is accomplished, and that is that a large number of the American public feel the same way and feel cheered that a famous movie star echoes their sentiment.
Palestine and immigrant refugees are more important, but we are fed a constant diet of trivia.
The right-wingers defend the trivia.

I agree with John that DiNiro should stick to acting, something he does well. And as to " and that is that a large number of the American public feel the same way and feel cheered that a famous movie star echoes their sentiment." if that is true it is kind of scary and not at all a flattering image of the American general public. de Niro's One-Word RantAdmin adds: " He accomplishes nothing positive with these rants." Speaking From 180-degrees Away
Admin says: "...if that is true it is kind of scary and not at all a flattering image of the American general public."
The American general public that cheers with de Niro doesn't like what's being done to their country by shysters and consters. It is the only "flattering image" we have.

As (one?) of the token conservatives here, I'm not giving DeNiro's speech the time of day. It's sad to see what he's become....a bitter old man.

It Just Goes to Show
cthuskeyman thinks little of Robert de Niro: "A bitter old man."
For a "bitter" man he seems rather charming, jovial and rich. Smart too.

So I just logged in to the site, and what do I see? Some loser edited one of my posts....I said I was the "token con servative" around here....they edited that to say "neo nazi". Anyone want to be a man, and admit to that? Or is everyone going to hide in their "safe space"?
Yeah, I'm a bit angry at this. If you've got something to say to me, don't hide like a coward....show yourself.
Update: Apparently, someone is changing the word con servative. It just happened again. Like I said, be a man, and show yourself.

Weird, I see that in the post above Carl's. My guess is that it's an automated filter in the forum software used to find and replace keywords in posts, such as cussing, but rewired to take another word and change it to something else.
It's a wake up call, don't take postings on face value if something they said seems 'out there' and uncharacteristic of their posts. It could be a post hack.

OK, I have found the issues and Matt is correct. Someone has configured the forum so that any time the word Conservative was entered it was automatically changed to neo-Nazi. Also anytime someone entered the name of Kirsten Neilson, it would be changed to b*tch. ONLY A MODERATOR OR ADMINISTRATOR could have done this. This of course is totally unacceptable and not the behavior of a mature adult. For this reason, I have TEMPORARILY removed Moderator privileges from both Carl and Robert. I also discovered that Carl was also in the system as an Administrator. This was not done by me so must have been done by a previous administrator. I have also removed Carl's Administrator privileges. So for now I am the only moderator. I hope that this is a very short term situation! I will post more in a separate thread later. Jim Really? I find that to be a funny prank, like if we all worked at a radio station and some trickster went around and changed posters on the station's event cork board to something else, or edited someone's cart with different audio than they thought would get played.. I think there's room for creative immaturity in radio, it livens things up and has been a staple of morning shows for years, Bob and Tom, Howard Stern, your local burgh's morning team etc. Boomer

This is or should be the place where the ALPB presents itself as a professional organization. At least that is part of my vision. Jim
