Really just 100mW and a long ground lead will achieve some pretty unbelievable coverage. Eliminating the ground rule would be the most benefit to our little stations.

Because loosing up the reigns would also mean increasing interference - which is the very reason Part 15 exist.
I totally agree allowing more power to part 15 is a reasonable to compensate for all the interference we now have now which did not exist at the time the rules were written. But again, the FCC's primary purpose of rules is to limit interference which are caused by unlicensed devices, so suggesting to increase power = increase interferences.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to see it happen, I just don't think it's very realistic to think the FCC would consider do it, it defeats the purpose.

Yeah, it certainly would be a benefit! 100mw input combined with a long radiating ground, I know first hand can achieve well over five miles range with a clear signal.

But a New Service for Hobby Broadcasting might work.

Also a former Part15.us member did likewise with his Rangemaster."

Lengthening the ground wire to say 1 meter in addition to the 3 meter antenna would be an improvement and on AM you don't cause much interference to anything at that power.
