New Idea for Hobby Fun
We all know about jammers. The (usually) countries who try to block out foreign broadcasts by blocking incoming signals with strong blasty transmissions that JAM the unwanted message.
As small players in the radio game we cannot seriously jam radio stations we dislike...
For example, I resent the large number of religious stations that transmit cave-age scams as a means of scaring ignorant listeners into sending money to reserve a place in heaven, and I'd have fun jamming their broadcasts.
But, the reality is that we do not have enough power to jam larger stations, and obviously if we tried we would be guilty of causing interference and would be rounded up by Homesick Security and sent to a camp.
But there is a way... a legal way... to play the game of radio jamming for hobby fun!
A. Set up a legal low power station at one end of your property and use it to send offensive religious programming.
B. At the other end of your property set up a second low power radio station ON THE SAME FREQUENCY and transmit obnoxious amplified buzz-saw sound and have your mother-in-law mimic an angry cat... use this to totally blank out your religious station.
If you begin having sexual feelings take a break.

What a conundrum!
We have to accept interference but aren't allowed to cause it.
You could be in deep dodo with yourself...

When I try to DX on FM I always get the Godcasters and now those pesky AM Translators. The frequency I use to transmit on 100.1 now has been overrun with a translator out of Norfolk transmitting AM 1010 a Godcaster station. Now on 96.5 which has a Classic Rock station out of Richmond gets overrun with an AM sports translator out of Norfolk. 97.7 The Rocket out of MD now gets overrun with a Godcaster out of Richmond, VA.
I was still able to get 100.3 WBIG from Washington, DC playing Classic Rock. However more and more the FM band is being overrun with these pesky Godcasters at every turn. And new AM Translators are popping up all over the place like 94.1 all are Mono so that in itself is a dead giveaway its a translator. I don't see any AM revitalization here but rather an AM phase out.

I don't see any AM revitalization here but rather an AM phase out. The real reason for these translators is to suck up space from LPFM's. Translators can run up to 250 watts ERP while LPFM can max out at 100 watts ERP. In Tampa the daytime translator (WFLA) coverage is less than the footprint of the AM station it's supposed to help. Go figure.

The Deep End of the DoDo
MRAM rams it home: "You could be in deep dodo with yourself..."
If my self jamming keeps up I will file a complaint against myself!
