A while back I asked for help in stripping the audio off mp4 files and saving as mp3. I got lots of help but then found it is very simple to do with a tool I already have, VLC Media Player. I converted 4 of these PSAs to audio only now have them in my Zara playlist. I offer them here for anyone who would like to broadcast them on their station. Jim

Thanks, I downloaded them all, and by the titles it looks like I might have heard some on the radio, texting and driving for example.

Boomer, glad you like. I have worked many MVA's where the cause was the driver texting. It is very traumatic when you have to deal with it. As to the two Move Over PSAs, most every state has a law about that yet people continue to violate it thus the PSAs. Thanks, I downloaded them all, and by the titles it looks like I might have heard some on the radio, texting and driving for example. Boomer

Thinking About This
I very seldom listen to KDX in the car because it fades away within a block and a half, on top of which I am a very safe driver who actually obeys the rules of the road, so the spots are unnecessary for me.
Any listeners would be on the internet and probably not in a car, although maybe the spots would remind them to be better drivers when they do drive.
I might play the spots just in case they help the situation.
I have the hunch that some people drive in defiance of the rules on purpose as an expression of testosterone.
If I were a traffic cop I'd use up a jumbo carton of hand-cuffs on every shift arresting all those rule violators.
I'd need a moving van to hold all the arrestees.
Oh, I know... I could play the PSAs non-stop 24-hours in the jail cells!
But I'm not a cop and don't have any jail cells, only PSAs.
Maybe there's a hobby jail forum.

Going beyond the subject of these 4 PSAs is the subject of pulling over when approached by an emergency vehicle. If you see/hear an emergency vehicle approaching you please pull over immediately even if the emergency vehicle is approaching from the opposite direction, and stay there until it has passed. That is the law almost everywhere. I remember one occasion en-route to a serious motorcycle accident where the person in front of me refused to pull over even though I was right on their tail with lights and sirens blasting. That is life threatening behavior.

Thanks Jim, for the info, there's probably a PSA somewhere about what to do to share the road with emergency vehicles. If not, you could record one.
I've been playing PSAs for a long time, during an overnight AM shows I used to run them at breaks every half hour. It doesn't seem to be a bad thing to give 30 seconds to a PSA, and I'd use them to buy time to cue a record up, things like that. They helped the show sound a little more professional too.
You have to watch some of them though. If you're a station that doesn't like any kind of commercial messaging, I'd recommend to audition them first, since some have company names sponsoring them.
On my station I'm trying to present as an oasis from direct commercialism like you get on every other station. I run podcasts, and lately more of them have sponsored messages in them, and I've been caught with my pants down a few times lately.

Boomer, and everyone, There are lost of good PSAs here at ResponderSafety.com . Just strip the audio off them for your PSAs. To see just a little about what First Responders face, see this link: pull over for emergency vehicles . It's amazing how some drivers can be so selfish. In the incident I mentioned in a previous message we did not cite the driver because our first priority was to save the lives of the accident victims.
