No not running out of memory. As I posted my computer has way more memory and processor capabilities than the min. system requirements. All MP3 files, know about the control for the fade etc. I'll try the other two I mentioned as with "play it" there's a $15 extra feature that gives you EQ and compression. I waited 5 minutes twice with Zara and still no result when grouping the whole playlist and enter but it worked with a couple of hundred. Do you have the free version? Maybe a trick to it and something I'm missing. Need all tracks, complete playlist all in one place accessible for playback not in separate folders only accessing one folder at a time. I'll try the other two and see what happens. If one works I will let you know which one.

Yes, I'm using Zara Free Edition (1.6.2, I believe).
I have my files in separate directories, one for each set of CD's that I ripped, and all under one master directory (ArtisanRadioDooWop). I just pick up and drag and drop ArtisanRadioDooWop into the playlist area of Zara, and everything gets read in, no issues. I save it under a .m3u (playlist) file, and then I can drag and drop that file into Zara whenever I want to play that playlist. Or I can have an event which fires off that playlist. Again, no problem.
There's something weird going on with what you're trying to do. Probably something really simple, so simple that everyone is making assumptions that aren't true.

Guess what!! Discovered the "trick" to get ALL the tracks on! There was something as I thought I wasn't doing right. I was doing what Carl said and it worked only for a certain number but did it another way and presto all went on from folder in 20 seconds!..all 3370 things. So far so good.
I will play with it on my computer to get it working right. If works will get second computer and install on that and that will be my audio source on automated. Wish it would have some EQ but maybe can do that at the computer end of things with Groove as it has EQ settings and is a windows recognized program. Windows Media Player has no EQ settings as I can see. Will keep you all posted. Will try to get real time inserts also....will have to figure this out too.

Works good! Great how the song starts, overlapping as the Jingle finishes! I can really sound professional now. How do you find the EQ ?
It uses my computer sound card and not Groove so can't adjust unless computer has settings for the sound card. Do you find it to be "full" sound and balanced right? Don't want to get an equalizer as another piece of equipment.

Great that you got Zara going well! I've seen it used in a number of stations, and even on TV with rebel radio stations, and I'm like, 'I know that program, that's Zara!'
I've tried Zara but don't have it in use, my station isn't trying to be that professional, just as long as something keeps playing.
When I tried it, the sound was the same as other media players on my system, which is flat EQ, and that's what I run.
The older Zara I tested could run a compression plugin called Sound Solution, that was way back when I first tested it. Maybe there's an EQ plugin?
I agree, the language barrier can be a mess, but someone here at ALPB has written English documentation for Zara, out of love for the program. It might be linked to the main ALP website, so you may want to check there.

Hi Mark, are all the files mp3's, Zara wont play aac, mp4 & copy protected wma files. You should be able to drop the root folder containing all your files in to Zara and it will load them all, if you have a lot of files it will take some time. To shuffle your files ones you have made your playlist, hold down Ctrl & K on you keyboard and that will shuffle all your files. One draw back with making a very large playlist is it takes longer to load the playlist. I make my playlist of 500 files and then have a shortcut at the bottom of the playlist to the next playlist. No there is no way to get eq in to Zara. Yes..ALL MP3's and waited for 5 minutes to see if the whole group of 3370 items would load and nothing. But when just taking a group of maybe several hundred they went on but when I tried to put more at a point no more would go on. The EQ would be nice and others have I found out. Like the overlap of one song into another at the end and having real time announced at points all automated working by itself. Although with spoken ID's that feature would cut off the end of the ID before it finishes. Mark to get your ids to play to the end, you add ~0 to the end of the file name. ~ plus a number is the overlap time so ~1 is one second ~2 2 seconds and ~0 is no overlap. eg The Best Music Around~0.mp3. Do this to music tracks you dont want to overlap as well. Attachments:ZaraRadioUserManual.pdf (715.94 KB)

Thanks , that's good info. I set the fade to 0 and the overlap to 2 seconds. How do I insert the real time announcement at certain spots throughout ? I would be using on random automated. Or does that feature need a regular playback sequence?

Here's a Zara question: if a programmer offers me a ftp link to their programming, does Zara offer a way to automatically download and play the file much like I can do with a static link or a file in a Dropbox folder? Thanks!
