A very interesting thread on the great advantage of salt water for Part 15 antenna ground efficiency is currently in progress at sister-site part15(dot)us. Scroll through it and then return for my added thoughts. PART15(DOT)US PORTAL SPIGOTAll right... for everyone arriving from over at the other site... We recall seeing landscaping tips on public TV gardening shows about building water features in the back yard, including gold fish ponds, lily pad ponds and such... These ponds are water-tight so they retain the water. How about building a shallow pond 60-feet by 60-feet by 6-inches deep and filling it with ground radials, water, and bags of winter ice-melt salt. Of course the AM antenna would be located on a small "island" in the center of the pond. This might be the way to somewhat match the advantages of sea water for AM grounding.
