I like the fatty coil design down the page a bit. i would also add a top hat to the design. put it over a ground plane and you will have something somewhat efficient. w5jgv.com/mobile_antenna/

might try that i have some 1/2 inch copper tubing and i can get some copper piping and pvc for insulation. might try and build something like this for top end AM Band.

That sure seems solid, and with the bolts you can change the coil easily and work on it and put it back. Even smaller coils for low power could benefit by having a bracket to mount to.

Like the idea too and I think I could put that thing on a pole next to the house and I should be good for my AM Transmitter. Plus this antenna has great gain. I should post this in the "Closed Forum" that I go to and see what those guys thing as I think it will work for what I want so to speak.
If so I may have someone help make this antenna and I should be on air hopefully Summertime.
