Just for fun I ran a Longley-Rice plot for each mode keeping everything the same except changing the receiver from Car STEREO to Car MONO. Station Parameters: Power - 85 watts Elevation - 39 meters Antenna Height - 26 meters STEREO MONO

That was an FM station I assume? See, not just car radios but any radio is more sensitive in mono than stereo.

What are all the inputs to get the patterns, what went into it? On the receiver side, most new radios now digitally treat the signal, extracting the stereo difference channel with low noise and using a blend function.
Imagine a station that was in AM stereo, and yet their FM translator was mono, I've never heard of that situation so far, but it would be cool!
