At KDX Worldround Radio we have no wired monitor speakers and rely entirely on FM radios to monitor the audio coming off of our computers.
The 24-hour KDX radio program stream is found at 89.5 MHz, which has two transmitters... one a "main" and the other a backup.
Audio editing and auditioning as well as Youtube viewing and ALPB TeamSpeak meetings are heard at 89.9 MHz.
On those occasions when we need to grab a track from a vinyl record we send the turntable on FM to record it at Master Control. For a time this was done by a certified FM transmitter at 87.7 MHz, but that was stopped by some veiled threats from rule thumpers who insist the certification is invalid at that frequency. To shut them up so they could pester someone else we started sharing 89.9 which required switching transmitters as necessary.
Now KDX is installing a second computer as a security measure should the original computer die and go to heaven. The second computer will need a transmitter, and we've chosen 90.3 MHz as its exclusive channel.
The general public is forbidden to listen to our FM broadcasts which are exclusive private indoor utility channels dedicated to our own communications purposes.
Penalty for unauthorized listening is a mild curse such as "may your leaf-blower become jammed for one season".

Do you know or use USB powered and audioed FM transmitters? A chip in them acts as a second sound card, to receive audio from programs that want to send to it, while the speaker and line outputs on the computer remain free to send audio feeds for example to speakers or a companion AM transmitter.
One of the early things I did after getting a PC in the past was to use it for audio transmitting, files, CDs, and they weren't tied to the speakers at the desktop, I could enjoy audio, streams on radios around the house that way, very nice. The problem was it tied up the audio out jacks on the computer, so I had to be like an old time telephone operator, ready to plug the speakers, FM transmitter or headphones in depending on what was needed.
I found mini transmitter dangles that would broadcast directly from the USB, no other connections, and that was a lot better for sound feeding!
