I'm not sure why my Talking House now works. I effectively moved it about 2 feet to the middle of a window (it was originally at one end) and now it tunes. I didn't do much inside. It could be that there's less RF noise in the new location, but 2 feet? It could also be because there was metal in the window frame or well that detuned the antenna. Or it could be that the transmitter tuning section is flaky, which is what I'm leaning towards.

DavidC brings to mind a bane of the electronician: "I'm not sure why my Talking House now works."
Too many times we have the experience "it started working but I don't know why".
That pretty well re-directs this thread.
Let me get it back on track:

Howdy all: This is for David c and others.
I can tell you from experience on my T.H.5.0 tx using the wire ant/internal turner unit.
I was testing a location where there was a
Washer/dryer,ac blower unit,metal storage unit,water heater,car port cover,
Aluminum framed windows.
There was 99% of the time the tx worked great in that location.
Other 1% it would NOT tune so I did a recalibration and it worked fine in that location.
But what I found out I had noise in that area at the time which caused my
Issues.
Keep in mind sometime moving thing around will also fix an issues at time.
Example: Its like picking up an FM signal one spot will read s-5 move 2 feet
Over and you would receive a s-10,Some interference works the same I have
Seen this.
Another example the room I'm in is a 10 foot by 12 foot room there is
Two places that I have constant noise interference all the time,but on a rare
Occasion I seen it to increase to four places depending on the noise interference
From the power company transformer.
You guys need to learn to break thing down in section when you see
A problem to find your issues.
I could tell you more but this is it.
