The thread heading says "General Board - You can Talk About Anything Here."
Let's put that to the test.
First off, what's the deal with permissions and/or royalties for hobby streaming?
I said HOBBY streaming. Not business streaming nor pirate streaming.
Can you explain it to me?
No matter who I ask or where I search (in the online sense) everything about the question seems threatening as in "don't speak unless your lawyer is present."
On top of that, from past experience, a lawyer can make things worse if all he's doing is bilking you for a case he neither understands nor cares about.
The people who portray hobbyists as criminals are actual criminals who conspire together to exploit hobbyists for being nice guys.
The advice I find easy to give but hard to accept is that hobby streamers should close shop and take up gardening.
In a state of ongoing naivte I've supposed that "permission" is all one needs to use another's program, but the royalty brigade might over-rule such a simple solution, and claim that payments are due despite permission.
Do you know otherwise? Why should I believe you?
